Who is a typical user of the

AppEsteem is generally a provider of business-to-business services, and operates primarily to review and certify applications for business clients prior to download by an end user. However, since a key part of our services are geared at protecting the end user, we may have some interaction with consumers.

What information do we collect online?

When you visit, we will collect information from that visit, including standard log information and details of your behavior patterns (which we describe below). We collect this information in a way that does not identify you and we will not associate this data with any personally identifying information from any source.

We may also offer you an opportunity to comment online on a topic of relevance to our company.  If you chose to comment in this manner, you are responsible for all of the data that you include in your posting.  We do not require any personal data to post information on our website. If we ever need to collect any personal data through our website, we will make this clear, and explain both why we need this information and what we plan to do with it.

While we do not offer an opt-out for cookies, your browsers may give you control over cookies used on your computer or mobile device.  You can generally set your browser to alert you when a cookie is being used, which will give you a chance to accept or reject the cookie.  You may also be able to set your browser to refuse all cookies, or accept only cookies returned to the originating servers.  You can generally disable the cookie feature in your browser without affecting your ability to access our website, except in some cases where cookies are used as an essential security feature necessary for completing transactions.

Embedded URLs and pixel technologies

We may track user behavior on our website without using cookies by using embedded URLs.  This allows limited information to follow users as they navigate the site, but is not associated with personal information and is not used beyond the session.  We may also use embedded pixel technologies on selected pages for the purposes of identifying unique user visits to our website, as opposed to aggregate hits, and to identify the pages viewed.  Or, we may also use embedded pixel technologies to determine whether the recipient of an e-mail has opened a particular message.

Log files

We may use log files that collect information including IP addresses, electronic communication protocols, web addresses, browser type, internet service provider, platform type, and other network routing information (referrals), equipment information (browser type) and date and time, duration and content of pages accessed. Information about your device such as your device type, screen size, browser type, language, and other settings, memory capacity, plug-ins, Internet domain, TCP configuration parameters, operating system, carrier code, time zone, and the names, versions, and package IDs of software installed on your device. This information helps us use and administer our website, track our users’ movements in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  We use a tracking utility that uses log files to analyze user movement.

Other Information we may collect and do not track

We may provide you with an opportunity to participate in interactive discussions, or post comments or other content. We do not control the content any of our users post to our open forum or elsewhere.  You should carefully consider whether you want to submit personal data on any such discussions, and tailor any content appropriately.

We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals from web browsers.

How do we use this information?

We do not rent or sell your information to other companies, but we may use your personal data in various ways, including to:

  • identify you as a user in our system;
  • improve the quality of your experience with our website and services;

Additionally, we may communicate with you about a service, conference or event hosted or co-sponsored by AppEsteem or a company associated with us.  Information that you provide when registering for a service, conference or event may be shared with other parties working with us, and treatment of that information is further subject to the privacy policies of those parties.

We may disclose your personal data to comply with laws, court orders, litigation or other legal process, and/or in response to requests from governmental authorities within or outside of your country of residence.  We may also disclose your personal data if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our rights or protect our operations or users.  Additionally, we may disclose your personal data to an affiliate, or a successor or acquiring entity as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or other transaction. We may also share your personal with our agents, contractors and volunteers to perform any of the functions listed above, or as part of our general business operations.

We may create anonymous data records from personal data by excluding such information (such as your name) that makes the data personally identifiable to you.  We reserve the right to use this data for any purpose and disclose anonymous data to third parties in our sole discretion.

Third-Party Sites

This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for our website; however, we may provide links to other websites. If you leave our website, you will be going to sites that are beyond our control. These other sites may send their own cookies to your computer, collect data or solicit personal information. The privacy policies and procedures described here for AppEsteem do not apply to any external links. You are encouraged to read the privacy policies of any site linked through our website, especially if you share any personal information.

Transfer of Information to Other Countries

Our processing of the personal data that we collect may involve the transfer of that information to various countries around the world.
